Eligibility Criteria For Samsung Recruitment 2026

Samsung is looking for VLSI professionals with strong foundations in physical implementation:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or VLSI Design.
  • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools from Cadence (Innovus/Tempus) or Synopsys (ICC2/PrimeTime).
  • Technology Nodes: Experience working on advanced process nodes such as 7nm, 5nm, or below is highly preferred.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Tcl, Perl, or Python to automate design tasks.
  • Analytical Skills: Deep understanding of deep sub-micron effects and their impact on timing and signal integrity.

Key Responsibilities

The role focuses on the full Physical Design cycle for high-performance chips:

  • Netlist to GDSII Flow: Ownership of the complete physical implementation flow, including floorplanning, placement, and routing.
  • Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS): Designing and optimizing clock structures to minimize skew and power consumption.
  • Timing Closure: Performing Static Timing Analysis (STA) and fixing setup, hold, and recovery violations across various corners.
  • Physical Verification: Ensuring the design is clean of DRC (Design Rule Check), LVS (Layout Vs Schematic), and Antenna violations.
  • Power Analysis: Implementing IR drop analysis and optimizing the power grid for low-power design requirements.
  • ECO Implementation: Handling functional and timing ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) in the final stages of the design.
