Job Description:
Seeking a talented and driven Machine Learning Engineer / Data Science Manager to join PayPal’s nascent Intelligent alerting team. Ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms. We leverage state of the art machine learning techniques to solve challenging and impactful business problems on anomaly detection around consumer & merchant domain. This position requires the ability and curiosity to learn various advanced AI/ML techniques. The Role would also demand constant process improvement, working with scalable platforms for model deployment, Application of Gen-AI based proactive insight generation & bringing Thought Leadership/Innovation in the current alerting eco-system
Your day-to-day:
- Developing state-of-the-art Machine Learning solutions to solve alerting business problems
- Working with team and stakeholders to formulate business challenges into data science and machine learning problems
- Productionizing and automating large scale end-to-end data solutions in close collaboration with our engineering & platform teams
- Present findings and recommendations to business partners and senior leadership
What do you need to bring:
- Strong SQL & Python skills to manipulate and extract data
- In-depth hands-on Individual Contributor experience in building Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning and Time Series Forecasting Models
- Tech stack could be anything within the data science realm – Experience with ML platforms such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.
- Prior work experience in delivering anomaly detection solutions
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities is a must-have
- Exposure to handle large data-sets- Experience in Data Engineering Skills, Shell scripting experience, Work experience in Hadoop, Spark, Spark-sql, Scala will be considered as a plus
- Exposure to Gen-AI and LLM will be considered as a plus
- Business Acumen to produce relevant metrics and insights. Fintech Domain background will be a plus
