The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) was set up by Govt. of Odisha as a statutory body in the year 1994 for carrying out direct recruitment against Group-C posts in the State cadre (as against District cadre) as may be scheduled in the OSSC Rules, 1993. There are some 85 different cadres of posts/ services under various departments of Government to which recruitment is made through this Commission. .
The Commission’s office is located at Barrack No.1, Unit-V, Bhubaneswar-751054. The Commission is headed by the Chairman, and in addition it comprises of a Member. They are appointed by the Government, and are governed by Rules regulating their recruitment and conditions of service. The Commission is accountable to the General Administration Department of Government in administrative and financial matters.

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must complete 10+2 in Science or 10+2 (Vocational Courses) in Agriculture/ Crop Production/ Horticulture/ Repair & Maintenance of Power Driven Farm Machinery from a recognized Institute.
Age Limit: (As on 01-01-2019)
Candidate’s age must be minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as in case of General Candidates. Relaxation is provided to the reserved category candidates.
Selection Process:
Candidates are selected based on their performance in the Main Written Examination and Certificates verification.
Main Written examination consists of Paper-I and Paper-II
Paper-I:
General Studies
English Language
Odia Language
Paper-II:
Mathematics: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Menstruation, Trigonometry, Statistics.
General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Crop Production/ Agriculture.
Application Fee:
- Candidates have to pay the application fee through online mode.
- General candidates have to pay fee of Rs. 200/-. Reserved category candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
