NRRI is one of the institutes of ICAR under Crop Science Division. The Institute has three research stations, at Hazaribag, Jharkhand for carrying out rice research on rainfed upland ecologies; at Gerua, Assam for carrying out rice research on flood prone rainfed lowland ecologies; and at Naira, Andhra Pradesh for carrying out rice research on coastal saline ecologies. Two Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) also function under the administrative control of ICAR-NRRI. These are located at Santhapur, Cuttack, Odisha and Jainagar, Koderma, Jharkhand.
National Rice Research Institute (NRRI), Cuttack has bagged three prestigious awards by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The awards were given by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in the presence of Hon’ble Ministers of State of Agriculture; Secretary, Department of Agriculture Research and Education and Director General, ICAR and many other dignitaries on 16th July, 2019, the Foundation Day of ICAR.

Educational Qualification:
- Obtained M.Sc in Botany/ Life Sciences / Plant Bredding/ Plant Biotechnology or B.Tech/ M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Genetics from a recognized University with valid GATE/NET Score.
Age Limit (As on 09-09-2020)
Candidates age must be maximum 35 years for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates.
