The Northeast Frontier Railway (abbreviated NFR), is one of the 18 railway zones in India. Headquartered in Maligaon, Guwahati in the state of Assam, it is responsible for rail operations in the entire Northeast and parts of West Bengal and Bihar

The North Eastern Railway was formed on 14 April 1952 by amalgamating two railway systems: the Assam Railway and Oudh and Tirhut Railway. Later, it was bifurcated into two railway zones on 15 January 1958, the North Eastern Railway (India) and the Northeast Frontier Railway to better serve the needs of the northeastern states.

Salary: Salary will be paid as stipend as per Apprentices act, 1961 norms.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must complete 10^th Class under 10+2 system with ITI in the concerned trade with minimum marks from a recognized Institute

Age limit:

Candidates age must be in between 15 to 24 years. Age should be reckoned as on 01-01-2020.

• For OBC Candidates age is relaxed by 3 years more
• For SC/ST Candidates age is relaxed by 5 years more
• For PWD Candidates age is relaxed by 10 years more

Selection Process:

Candidates are selected based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Matriculation, ITI).
