Eligibility Criteria For NHPC Recruitment 2026
Candidates must meet the following requirements as of the closing date:
- Educational Qualification: Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc (Engineering) from recognized Indian University/Institute approved by AICTE.
- Minimum Marks: 60% marks or equivalent grade (50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Eligible Branches:
- Civil: Civil Engineering only.
- Electrical: Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Power Systems & High Voltage / Power Engineering.
- Mechanical: Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Mechanical & Automation.
- Age Limit: Maximum 30 years (Relaxation: OBC-3 years, SC/ST-5 years, PwBD-10 to 15 years).
- GATE Score: Must have a valid score in GATE 2024 or GATE 2025. Final year students are not eligible.
Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will be placed in the E2 Pay Scale.
- Training Period: 1 Year. Upon successful completion, candidates are absorbed as Engineers.
- Annual CTC: Approximately ₹15 – ₹16 Lakhs per annum.
- Allowances: Includes Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Cafeteria Allowance, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical facilities, and Social Security benefits (PF, Pension, Gratuity).
Selection Process For NHPC Recruitment 2026
The selection is highly competitive and consists of:
- Shortlisting: Based on the best normalized marks obtained in GATE 2024 or 2025 (75% weightage).
- Group Discussion (GD): Conducted for shortlisted candidates (5% weightage).
- Personal Interview (PI): Final evaluation stage (20% weightage).
Note: A psychometric assessment may also be conducted as part of the interview process.
Service Agreement Bond
Selected candidates are required to execute a service agreement bond to serve the company for a minimum of 4 years:
- OBC (NCL) Candidates: ₹4,00,000
- SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: ₹2,00,000
