It was opened to the public within four years of starting construction, making it the fastest completed metro project in India until the Lucknow Metro overtook it. The Kochi metro project is the first metro in the country which connects rail, road and water transport facilities.
Kochi Metro was lauded for its decision to employ Kudumbashree workers and also members of the transgender community. It is the world’s first rapid transit system whose entire management operations are handled by women. The system is also involved in sustainable initiatives with the introduction of non-motorized transport corridors in the city, installation of solar panels for power and vertical garden on every sixth metro pillar. Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Manager (Civil): Candidates must complete Diploma/Degree (Civil Engineering) from a recognized Institute. For Degree holders 7 years experience is needed. For Diploma holders 12 years experience is needed. Out of the entire experience candidates must have minimum 3 to 5 years experience in metro projects.
- Manager (Construction): Candidates must complete Diploma/Degree (Civil Engineering) from a recognized Institute. For Degree holders 7 years experience is needed. For Diploma holders 12 years experience is needed. Out of the entire experience candidates must have minimum 3 to 5 years experience in construction field is required.
- Executive (Architect): Applicants should qualify Degree in Architecture field with 3 years experience in architectural design out of which 2 years experience in metro design is must.
Age Limit:
Candidate’s age must be maximum 40 years. Age will be calculated as on 01-07-2020. Age relaxation is applicable to the reserved candidates as per government rules.

Candidates are selected based on their performance in the interview.
