Department of Water Supply and Sanitation was initially known a Public Health Branch of PWD which came into existence in the year 1956. Prior to that it was functioning as a part of Building and Roads Branch.
The department was responsible for all types of Public Health Engineering Works viz. Water Supply and Sanitary installation in Government Buildings/Institutions and Public Health Engineering works in Urban Estate, grain markets etc.

- Community Development Specialist: 31 Posts
- Information Education and Communication (IEC) Specialist: 35 Posts
- Block Resource Co-ordinator: 216 Posts
Salary: Rs. 20,000/- PM for specialist posts, Rs. 15,000/- PM for BRC post. T.A is given for both the posts.

Eligibility Criteria :
Education Qualification:
Community Development Specialist:
Obtained Post graduate degree in Social work with minimum 50% pass marks from a recognized University with 2 years experience in social development/ social policy, socioeconomic or specific issue such as health, education, gender, water & Sanitation, poverty.
Information Education and Communication (IEC) Specialist:
Post graduate degree in Mass communication/ Journalism with minimum 50% pass marks from a recognized University with 2 years experience in social development/ social policy, socioeconomic or specific issue such as health, education, gender, water & Sanitation, poverty.
Block Resource Co-ordinator:
Obtained Bachelor of Arts with minimum 50% pass marks from a recognized University with 1 year experience in water sanitation sector.
For all the posts candidates must complete Matriculation with Punjabi language or qualify test for Punjabi language.
Age limit(As on 01.01.2020):
Candidates age must be in between 18 to 45 years as on 01-01-2020. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.
Selection Process:
- Selection will be based purely on the merit in the written test except for Sportsperson category.
- Written test will be of 85 marks.
- For specific experience 15% weightage is given.

- Other Categories: Rs.1,000/-
