It is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous government body and India’s largest research and development (R&D) organisation.
The establishment of CSIR-CIMFR was aimed to provide R&D inputs for the entire coal-energy chain from mining to Consumption through integration of the Core Competencies of the two (CFRI & CMRI) premier Coal institutions of the country.

Salary:
- Project Assistant Level I: Rs.15,000/Month
- Project Assistant Level II: Rs.25,000/Month

Eligibility Criteria:
Project Assistant Level I:
- B.Sc (Hons) or B.Sc in Geology
- B.Sc (Hons) or B.Sc in Chemistry
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- Diploma in Mining Engineering
Project Assistant Level II:
- M.Sc or M.Sc (Tech) in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry
- B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- B.E/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering
- B.E/B.Tech in Mining Engineering
- M.Sc in Computer Science /Information Technology
Note: Graduate & Diploma with minimum 55% marks.
Age limit:
- Project Assistant Level-I: Below 28 years as on Date of Interview
- Project Assistant Level-II: Below 30 years as on Date of Interview
Age relaxations: 05 years for Statutory Groups and Women candidates.
Selection Process:
Candidates are requested to appear before the Selection Committee for interview /written test (if NET not qualified)
