It is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous government body and India’s largest research and development (R&D) organisation.
The establishment of CSIR-CIMFR was aimed to provide R&D inputs for the entire coal-energy chain from mining to Consumption through integration of the Core Competencies of the two (CFRI & CMRI) premier Coal institutions of the country.

Salary:
- Project Assistant Level I: Rs. 20,000/Month
- Project Assistant Level II: Rs. 31,000/Month

Eligibility Criteria:
Project Assistant Level-I:
- Bachelor of Science with/or Honours in Chemistry/Geography.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Project Assistant Level-II:
- Post Graduate Master Degree with Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/ Geography/ Applied Geography/ Geo-Science
- BE/ B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation/ IT/ Civil Engineering.
Age limit:
- Project Assistant Level-I: Below 28 years as on Date of Interview
- Project Assistant Level-II: Below 30 years as on Date of Interview
Age relaxations: 05 years for Statutory Groups and Women candidates.
Selection Process:
- Selection will be based on the performance in interview
- Walk-in-interview will be held at CSIR-CIMFR, Digwadih Campus, Dhanbad
