BARC Recruitment 2021: The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) was established through a Presidential Order on August 3, 1954, to be administered directly by the Prime Minister.

The vision of the DAE is to empower India by the use of technology for creation of wealth leading to a better quality of life for her citizens. DAE is engaged in the design, construction and operation of Nuclear power/research Reactors and the associated Nuclear Fuel Cycle technologies covering exploration, mining and processing of nuclear ores, production of heavy water, nuclear fuel fabrication, fuel reprocessing and nuclear waste management.

  • Stipendiary Trainees Category-I: Rs. 16,000/- for 1st year, Rs. 18,000/- for 2nd year
  • Stipendiary Trainees Category-II: Rs. 10,500/- for 1st year, Rs. 12,500/- for 2nd year
  • Technician: Rs. 25,500/- PM

Eligibility Criteria:

Stipendiary Trainees Category-I:

Candidates must possess Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Chemical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation or B.Sc with Chemistry as main subject from a recognized Institute.

Stipendiary Trainees Category-II:

Candidates must complete H.Sc with 60% of marks & Physics, Chemistry & Maths as subjects or SSC with ITI/ Trade certificate in the Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician/ Electronic Mechanic/ Machinist/ Instrument Mechanic/
Welder (GMAW&GTAW)/ Mechanic Diesel/ Machinist Grinder from a recognized Institute.

Technician (Boiler Operator, Painter):

Candidates must complete SSC with 1st Class Boiler Attendants Certificate, certificate in the trade of Painter is required.

Physical Standards:

  • Height : 160 cms
  • Weight: 45.5 kg

Age Limit: (As on 31-01-2021)

Candidates age must be in between 18 to 24 years for Category-I, 18 to 22 years for Category-II Posts.

Selection Procedure:

Category-I Posts:

Written Examination will be of 1 hour duration and will comprise of 40 objective (multiple) type questions. Qualified candidates in the written test can attend for interview. 3 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Category-II Posts:

The selection process will consist of tests in 3 stages – Stage 1, Stage 2 & Stage 3.

Stage1 – Preliminary Test: Screening examinations to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examinations will be common for all trades and will be in the following format.

Examination will consist of 50 multi choice questions(choice of 4 answers) of one hour duration in the following proportion:

Mathematics – 20 questions
Science – 20 questions
General awareness – 10 questions

Stage 2- Advanced Test: All candidates Screened in Stage 1 will be allowed to undertake Stage 2 (Advance Test) in their respective trade.

The Test will comprise 50 multi choice questions (choice of 4 answers) of two hour duration. 3 marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Merit List of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2 based upon the scores obtained in Stage-2 only.

Stage 3- Skills Test : Based upon the Merit List prepared after Stage-2, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage 3 (Skill Test). Candidates clearing the skill test will be shortlisted and empanelled in order of Merit based on the marks secured in Stage 2.

Fee:

  • For the posts of Category-I, General category candidates have to pay fee of Rs. 150/-, For the posts of Category-II and Technician, General category candidates must pay fee of Rs. 100/-
  • Reserved category candidates are exempted from the payment of fee.
