North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) was established as a joint initiative of Department of Space (DOS) and the North Eastern Council (NEC) and came into being on 5th of September, 2000. The Centre helps in augmenting the developmental process in the region by providing the advanced space technology support.

The North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), a joint initiative of Department of Space (DOS) and the North Eastern Council (NEC) is a society registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 1983. The Centre has provided more than 17 years of dedicated service to the eight states of North Eastern Region (NER) of India using space science and technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Network of Boundary Layer Experiments (NOBLE) (WI-01):

  • M.Sc in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science with NET/GATE or equivalent. (OR)
  • M.Sc in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science with N-JET in Atmospheric Science Specialization. (OR)
  • M.Tech in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science or equivalent

For Forest growing Stock Assessment using geospatial techniques for preparation
of Forest Working Plan in Mizoram (WI-02):

  • M.Sc in Environment Science/ Ecology & Environmental Science/ Environment Management/ Forestry/ Forest Science/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Geography/ Applied Geography/ Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-informatics, with Graduation in Science
    with NET/GATE or equivalent. (OR)
  • M.Sc in Environment Science/ Environment Management/ Forestry/ Forest Science/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Geography/ Applied Geography/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geo-informatics, with Graduation in Science with N-JET in RS&GIS

  • M.Sc in Environmental Science/ Ecology & Environmental Science/ Environment Management/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Forest Science/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Geography/ Applied Geography/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics, with Graduation in Science with NET/GATE. (OR)
  • M.Sc in Environmental Science/ Ecology & Environmental Science/ Environment Management/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Forest Science/ Agriculture/Botany/ Geography/ Applied Geography/Remote Sensing &

Duration: Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for ONE YEAR or the period of the Project whichever is earlier and is extendable for further periods based on the assessment of their work and requirement of the project.
