The Centre helps in augmenting the developmental process in the region by providing the advanced space technology support.

The Centre has provided more than 17 years of dedicated service to the eight states of North Eastern Region (NER) of India using space science and technology.

- M.Sc in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science with NET/GATE or equivalent. (OR)
- M.Sc in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science with N-JET in Atmospheric Science Specialization. (OR)
- M.Tech in Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Space Science/ Physical Science/ Earth System Science or equivalent
For Forest growing Stock Assessment using geospatial techniques for preparation
of Forest Working Plan in Mizoram (WI-02):
- M.Sc in Environment Science/ Ecology & Environmental Science/ Environment Management/ Forestry/ Forest Science/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Geography/ Applied Geography/ Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-informatics, with Graduation in Science
